‘NBC Keeps Curry Taped Up’

Will NBC let Ann cut through the red tape binding her to the Peacock network?

NYP Page Six: It seems NBC brass were not amused when Curry refused Matt Lauer’s attempts at small talk in her first live return to “Today” following her public beheading last August, when he said, “Nice to see you,” and she practically grimaced.

Ann Curry

Curry’s relationship with NBC has been uncomfortable after her demotion last summer. We hear she has been trying to get out of her contract, as new Cable News Network head honcho Jeff Zucker, a longtime friend and supporter since he was the executive producer of “Today,” has been courting her to join the network.

A rep for NBC said, “Ann Curry has a multi-year contract with NBC News. The rest of this gossip is nonsense.”

She looks really really happy in that head dress Marty,

I love that pic.You get the felling she’s just not into International reporting. Just not the same fun as NYC.

Maybe NBC is trying to drive Ann crazy by limiting her role.  Just let her out of the Peacock cage for CNN.

A contract may be a contract, but NBC doesn’t win when they shovel money at an unhappy reporter.  Better to make Zucker buy out her contract.

It sounds as though Curry and/or her surrogates leaked the item to the NYP.  NBC should just let her go.  There have been other leaked items in other pubs, to wit, something like:  MATT LAUER SAYS SPRING ANN!

A real reporter would talk the shirts into funding a news platform out of Mali, where “news” currently is.

I don’t see that happening, no vision.

It underscores what “news” is today, a who you know game, and nothing more.

The top shirts don’t want to spend any money on real reporting, they complained about the cost of CNBC having a team on the ground during the Greek crisis.

It was perfect reporting, but no, too expensive, had to cut that out.

What do they spend their money on at NBC, other than super inflated salaries for dem partisans pretending to be reporters?

I agree, but there’s a term for such coverage:  Bad ratings.  Most in this country would much rather hear about Beyonce lipsyncing.  Once upon a time, news departments said, screw that, you need to know this stuff.  Then the news became a profit center…

It’s a vicious cycle.  News is dumbed down for dumbed down public.

Chelsea Clinton, NBC’s “Special Correspondent.”  Flights, accommodations, “licensing fees” (photos, vids et al. in transparent attempts to divert checkbook journalism criticism), for fools in the news with their 15 minutes of meaningless fame.

And, oh God, there is soooooooooo much more! …
