Ed Asner Pisses On Rich In Cock-And-Bull Cartoon

Update: Asner to a Fox News producer ambushing and needling the actor over the California teachers’ union kiddie brainwashing cartoon: “Can I piss on you?” NewsBusters.

Spunk bucket Asner all wet.

And what grade level is gravelly octogenarian Ed Asner aiming for in his condescending, snide delivery of a sophomoric third-grade script whining about “economic inequality” and the “need for wealthy to pay fair share of taxes”– conveniently ignoring Democrats hellbent on spending us into oblivion.

Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by award-winning artist Mike Konopacki, and written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers. The 8 minute video shows how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don’t want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren’t so sure. This land bears a startling resemblance to our land. After you watch this video, click here to share with friends, and send an email to your elected officials to let them know they need to restore higher federal tax rates on the wealthy so that we may once more enjoy properly funded public services.”

Piss poor.

The conservative website NewsBusters notes:

Asner forget about President Obama’s stimulus plan which according to a chart created by the New York Times did the following:

- Help states prevent cuts to essential services like education – $53.6 billion
- Extend and increase unemployment compensation – $35.8 billion
- Health coverage under Cobra – $25.1 billion
- Increase food assistance – $20.9 billion
- Increase the maximum Pell Grant by $500 – $15.6 billion
- Provide cash payment to seniors, disabled veterans and other needy individuals – $14.4 billion
- Provide additional money to schools serving low-income children – $13 billion
- Provide additional money for special education – $12.2 billion
- Create new bonds for improvements in public education – $10.9 billion

Ancient Asner assails tax loopholes and corporate “tax evasion” without mentioning GE’s 2010 zero tax bill and Obama‘s appointment of CEO Jeffrey Immelt to his economic advisory board after the 2008 election. Obama later elevated Immelt to jobs czar of what appears to be a phantom entity that never meets. I have nearly 100 posts on Immelt, NBC (of which GE still owns 49%), Obama, GE’s outsourcing, shipping American jobs overseas, GE’s billion-dollar China deals orchestrated by Obama, Immelt‘s White House dinner invites, VIP status. Search Jeff Immelt.

Yes, Lou Grant’s classic line to Mary Tyler Moore.

I like Ed, he’s a true socialist, unlike all the phonies you see in hollywood today.

When Ed was head of the SAG his fellow actors accused Ed of Dictatorial behavior.

Now, I ask you, who have ever heard of a socialist turning into a Dictator, “scandalous”.

    • Jimbotalk

As a SAG (now SAG-AFTRA) member, I can tell you that Ed’s tenure was not exactly….universally popular.

I can grasp that.  He’s foul.

Hey Mr. Ed, why don’t you lead from the front by divesting yourself of those millions you “stole” from the poor in this country through your glutinous salary and tax loopholes and then you’ll have some measure of merit instead of sounding like the lunatic fat slob you are.

What’s that? You really don’t give a fuck about the poor, just wanting some more time in front of the camera?

Oh yeah, and that son of yours that OD’ed on drugs – it’s time to stop blaming the pusher and accept it was your sons’ poor choice, that personal responsibility thing.

This whole “tax the rich” shit is just that – shit.  Raising the $800M from taxing the “rich” will run this government about 8 days, and then what?  Oh shit, they will need more taxes, that’s what.  And then the bar is lowered below that “Magical $250K” mark – as well as the highest tax margin goes up from 39.5% to around 75-80%.  And after they have broken another layer of this country, the bar will go even lower while the effective tax rate goes up to around 90-95%.  There is no end to this until the government has everything and you and I are absolutely broke.  And then…..the selections begin.

It appears the California teachers’ union produced this cartoon to educate the kiddies.  Nice, huh.   Barack Obama.  Mmm, mmm, mmmm.

    • Sentinel

Maybe they should put some of that energy into “education” instead of “indoctrination”.

The days of education seem to be gone.   America is moving toward the Bolshevik Komsomol youth brainwashing organization.
