‘We are following up internally’: TV Station On Paula ‘Snatch’ Petraeus Book Cover

Why did a Denver’s KMGH-TV run the above on the air?

7NEWS sincerely apologizes for a mistake that we aired in our broadcast Monday, a mistake that has gone viral on the internet.

On 7NEWS at 5 p.m., the station reported on ex-CIA director David Petraeus’ relationship with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.

Broadwell earned a master’s degree at the University of Denver and had given a speech at an alumni event several weeks ago that may have provided insight into the early stages of their relationship.

During the broadcast, 7NEWS showed an image of Broadwell’s biography of Petraeus that is called, “All In: The Education of General David Petraeus.”

However, when the 7NEWS reporter went on the Internet to get an image of the book cover, the reporter mistakenly grabbed a Photoshopped image that said, “All Up In My Snatch.”

“It was a mistake,” said KMGH-TV News Director Jeff Harris.

“It was a regrettable and an embarrassing error. We are mortified this appeared during our 5 p.m. news broadcast. The editor pulled the image of the book cover from the Internet without realizing it had been doctored. We sincerely regret the error and have corrected the story to avoid any recurrence of its broadcast. We are following up internally as well to avoid a repeat of this inexcusable oversight,” Harris said.

    Nice……and so truthful.

       Thanks again!  Crazy shit, no?

We have to keep our humor; above all else.

That’s why my self-styled mission of this blog which kicked off after New Year’s Day 2007 was to make people laugh.

      From most accounts, mission accomplished.

Thank you for it; I’ve had one web site and it was for the purpose of destroying a political career.  Mission accomplished, the turd did not get a 2nd term in the house – he jumped parties anyway and I can’t stand a traitor.

Are you the same Sentinel who comments at Weasel Zippers?

Marty…I almost drowned in my Bourbon when I saw that ‘book cover.’ Good booze does not taste as good when accelerating downward in one’s nostrils as it does when it comes off the ice and flows across the tongue…Hell, kid, I’m still chuckling at that one.

       Kinda like waterboarding booze.

Anon, yep.  I don’t comment too much there anymore, just don’t have the time to follow the quick moving pace.

Yeah, I do remember your handle.  And you did a helluva job keeping it moving forward.  Sorry for the division.  I guess I just got tired of WZ, it has greatly increased in size now.

I like this site a lot, it’s a little more intimate (if I can use that word in a non-sexual manner) and folks seem supportive of each other and respective of each other’s opinions.  I think you’ll like it here as it tends to look at things from a humorous perspective.

@3b63f0c92ef0bdc6945dba4507ab082c:disqus : Actually, Zip’s numbers have fallen. I accidently clicked on a link from Ace and since I was there I checked his numbers. He’d be at 200,000 a day by now if he had listened to me. Now he hovers over 100K, which is where he was when I left.

And I love it here, which should be the case. After all, I built it. Marty’s a hoot.
